Preventive Dentistry
Preventive dentistry is actually related to kids dentistry where the focus is more about being less extensive and less expensive.
Our main agenda is to make sure that your kid’s oral health is kept at the utmost importance. Prevention is better than cure and this is what we believe at the World Smiles Dental Center. We promote prevention both at home at our clinic.
We take the utmost care when it comes to your child’s oral health. Our team at World Smiles Dental Center, Dr Rohan Bandi along with his pedodontist (Child Dental Specialist) will explain and teach you along with your child the best and effective methods of brushing and flossing.
Apart from this we at World Smiles Dental Center also carry out effective preventive treatments such as fluoride and dental sealants.
Preventive care is the most important for any dental practice and we are no different. As we’ve already mentioned, “Prevention is better than cure” we believe in reducing the causes of your child getting affected because of dental health issues.

Dental Sealants
You child’s permanent teeth are most vulnerable to infection and decay as soon as they erupt in the mouth. There are multiple reasons for that. But the most common is that chewing surfaces of the teeth have deeper grooves which are called pits and fissures. [Fig.1]
These pits and fissures are actually more prone to food deposition and bacterial proliferation. But yes, if these grooves can be cleaned and if proper cleanliness is maintained then the chances of getting the tooth decayed reduces. [Fig.2]
These grooves and valleys are so thin and narrow that the toothbrush bristles fail to reach the depth and it is impossible to clean, leading to decay at a later stage in life. [Fig.3]
Sealants are to be done while your child’s permanent teeth are erupting, which is mostly in the age of 6 to 12 years. [Fig.4]
Furthermore, when combined with fluoride treatment and regular cleaning along with multiple regular checkups the decay can be prevented and this ensures your child has stronger teeth throughout their lives.
